What is Samba 5-a-side?

Astro Kings has two types of pitches. Samba 5-a-side and Classic. The difference is in the goals; classic goals are 12ft wide by 4ft high (about waist height) while the samba goals are 6ft high, so it makes a difference to the play, tactics and goals scored where it makes for some spectacular top corner goals. A good keeper helps, but a class forward can make all the difference.

Kings Cup Tournament Format

Starting at 13.00 on Sunday July 23rd 2017, the tournament is a Champions League format with a group stage followed by straight knock out to the final.

Pay Per Player

Squads can consist of up to 7 players, roll-on roll off subs. £4 per player.

£8 deposit per team must be paid in advance to guarantee your place. Enter your details below and a member of the Astro Kings staff will ring to take payment over the phone.

Every 5-a-side Team Wins

• Winners will collect the Samba Cup, title of Best Samba 5-a-side Team in Nottingham and a free 5-a-side booking at Astro Kings
• All teams who enter will get a half price booking at Astro Kings to use in the next month.

Boots and Kit

If you’re taking part, please make sure you bring the right equipment. Most importantly, no metal studs or blades of any type are allowed. Please bring either moulded studs or astro-turf boots. All players must wear shin pads. We have bibs, but teams should arrange to wear a particular colour between themselves.
